Arjuna Namana

Arjuna was a legendary Asian elephant famous for carrying the 750-kg Golden Howdah (Ambari) during the grand Mysore Dasara (Jamboo Savari) procession for eight years from 2012 to 2019.

He served as the lead Ambari-carrier from 2012 to 2019 (succeeding Balarama and later succeeded by Abhimanyu) after famously beating the previous record during trials. Prior to that, he also served as the Nishane (lead escort) elephant.
